30,00 €
Special limited edition of Martins Palaçoulo's ignife classic: knife in the shape of a Portuguese blade, inspired by the Way of St James - hand-painted with fluorescent details.
In stock
This is a special ignife edition. Inspired by the Camino de Santiago that leads to Santiago de Compostela, the colour scheme of this pocket knife is based on the famous scallop shell that marks the route. The blue spiral represents the way and the yellow the arrival. Ignife has used a white cord that glows in the dark for real, metaphorical illumination!
Equipped with a 420 stainless steel blade and a beechwood handle hand-painted in Viana do Castelo. It also has a practical 550 paracord lanyard to make it easy to take out of your pocket or rucksack!
A particularly precise blade: Sheepfoot
This blade doesn't have a belly, but it does have a straight lower edge. The back of the blade, on the other hand, is slightly rounded, like the belly of a blade. The tip of this blade shape is located at the end of the straight edge. The fact that the tip is drawn so far down means that this blade shape can be used for particularly precise cuts. This blade is often used for sailor's knives.

Tradition from the north of Portugal: Martins Palaçoulo knives
Martins Palaçoulo knives are the epitome of genuine Portuguese craftsmanship - robust, functional and with decades of tradition. The family business was founded in the 1950s and is based in the village of the same name, Palaçoulo, in the Trás-os-Montes region - a centre of traditional knife making in Portugal. The knowledge passed down from generation to generation, the quality of the materials and the connection to nature characterise each piece. Whether in the forest, hunting or on a hike: these knives are made for life outdoors - and for people who value authentic quality.
Blade material |
420 stainless steel 420 is a popular stainless steel for knives that is particularly impressive due to its good corrosion resistance and easy maintenance. It contains around 13% of chromium, which makes it stainless, and it is relatively soft (approx. 52-55 HRC) compared to higher quality types of steel. This makes it very easy to sharpen, but it doesn't retain its sharpness for as long. |

yes A knife or sheath compatible with a flint offers a practical advantage for bushcraft, trekking and survival. The requirement is usually a sharp, right-angled blade back, with which sparks can be produced reliably. Some models also have an integrated holder, so that the flint is always at hand. The result is a well thought-out system with which you can light a fire quickly and reliably, even in difficult conditions - without a lighter or matches! |
