Many outdoor enthusiasts know the problem: the jacket is waterproof, but inside it feels damp and uncomfortable. The cause is often dirty outer fabric, which absorbs water and drastically reduces breathability. This is precisely where Nikwax Tech Wash® comes in. Developed specifically for waterproof and breathable fabrics, it cleans deeply without damaging membranes or compromising thermal insulation.
Why proper cleaning is so important
Household detergents leave hydrophilic residues that block the durable water repellent (DWR) treatment. As a result, the fabric “soaks up” more quickly and the moisture is no longer able to evaporate to the outside. Nikwax Tech Wash® removes these residues, prevents water absorption by the outer fabric and restores the garment's original comfort. The garment stays dry for longer, warmer and clearly more comfortable, even with intense physical exertion.
Versatile and delicate with materials
Nikwax Tech Wash® can be used in both the washing machine and hand wash and is suitable for technical materials such as Gore-Tex®, Windstopper®, Nikwax Analogy® and all other waterproof, windproof and fleece fabrics. With regular use, the waterproofing can remain effective for several washes, without the immediate need for reapplication.
