Patagonia - Quality and responsibility

A Patagonia is much more than a manufacturer of high-quality outdoor clothing. It is a brand that is internationally recognised for its conscious consumption, ecological responsibility and real commitment to protecting the planet. Founded in 1973 by American climber Yvon Chouinard, Patagonia was born out of a passion for nature and a desire to create durable equipment that would help preserve the environment rather than harm it. Today, Patagonia is a global benchmark in sustainability, social justice and environmental activism.

Patagonia - a brand with attitude

What sets Patagonia apart from other outdoor brands is the radical clarity of its stance:

«We're in business to save our home planet.» / «We're in business to save our home planet.»

This motto is not an empty PR phrase, but a lived reality throughout the company - from the supply chain to customer service. For decades, Patagonia has donated a portion of its profits to environmental organisations, publicly takes a stance against fast fashion and encourages its customers to repair their clothes instead of buying new ones. The commitment to sustainability is part of the brand's identity and is present in its day-to-day decisions.

In 2022, Patagonia once again made a difference by turning the company into a foundation, a decision taken by founder Yvon Chouinard with the aim of dedicating all future profits to fighting the climate crisis and protecting unspoilt nature. It was an unprecedented step that clearly demonstrated how seriously the brand takes its values and its environmental mission.
